It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara

Beauty, It Cosmetics

What makeup product can you not live without? For me, that’s a simple answer… MASCARA!
Today’s blog post features the Superhero Mascara by It Cosmetics!
IMG_4933Many of you know that I love this mascara because I rave about it on snapchat often and it’s a must-have when I travel. I used to use two mascaras every day, but not since March. When I’m sent new launches or when I buy products myself, I always like to take pictures first, then test out for at least 1-2 months, and then give my thoughts. I’ve been using Superhero since March and repurchased my 2nd one from Ulta towards the end of June, and just purchased another one for my freelance kit!  Continue Reading

Mani Monday: Essie ‘Bikini So Teeny’

Essie, Manicure Monday

Hey Everyone! Thank you for tuning in as always!
Today’s blog post is a nail polish review, part of my Mani Monday series 🙂 Enjoy!
IMG_5012 IMG_5014

Essie’s Bikini So Teeny is a beautiful light blue with some shimmer and it’s been one of my favorite spring/summer shades. I’ve been testing this out since May and I truly love the color, but wish the formula was a little different. When applying this color, I found that the formula was quite thin and one coat looked terrible. If I was in a hurry, this nail polish would not be able to do the job. I let the first coat dry and then reapplied another coat… it started to look a little better. The third coat worked some magic and I was satisfied with the pigmentation. In direct sunlight, you can actually see the shimmer in the bottle and it’s very subtle on your nails. Continue Reading

BECCA Cosmetics AFTERGLOW Palette: Photos & Review!

Becca Cosmetics

Hey Everyone! Thank you for tuning in as always! 🙂
Today’s post features a new palette from Becca Cosmetics!IMG_2617Introducing the Afterglow palette from Becca Cosmetics,
now available to purchase from your nearby Ulta! (in store or online) IMG_2619TA-DA! Isn’t it just beautiful? This may just be Becca’s 1st ever all cheek palette and I’m in love! This palette includes 3 of their highlighters and 2 of their best selling blushes. Highlighters (aka Shimmering Skin Perfectors)  included are: MOONSTONE, ROSE GOLD, and TOPAZ. Mineral blushes included are WILD HONEY and FLOWERCHILD.IMG_2620From left to right: Moonstone, Rose Gold, Topaz, Wild Honey & FlowerchildIMG_2625So now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s get to the juicy details of this palette. I think this is a great way to explore Becca’s cheek products if you don’t own or have yet to try their fabulous cheek products. Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfectors (highlighters) retail for $38 for .28 oz. and the Mineral Blushes retail for $32 for .20 oz— this is a great value because you get the chance to try 5 products for only $39.50, in my opinion, totally winning! IMG_2613I really love how slim and compact this palette is–
it easily fits into my makeup bag, not bulky and very travel friendly.

As for skin tones, I think these blushes will be stunning on the lightest to the darkest of skin tones, however, as for the Shimmering Skin Perfectors, Moonstone is my ultimate fave… yes, it even tops Champagne Pop. I’m pretty fair skinned, and Moonstone is my go to along with The Balm- Mary Lou Manizer. So I find Moonstone to work with all skin tones, it’s the perfect shade for a stunning glow. As for Rose Gold and Topaz, I find that these 2 work better as highlighters on medium to darker skin tones. However, that hasn’t stopped me from using this palette recently. I love using the Shimmering Skin Perfectors as eye shadows on my lid for some extra PIZAZZZ. They add oomph and define your eyes perfectly — in love.

*Overall, I think this palette is very much worth the price tag. You get the chance to try out 5 of Becca’s cheek products at such an incredible value. It’s definitely affordable in my opinion, and I always like to remind you all that a little goes a long way when using these products. These cheek products are incredibly pigmented and long-wearing. This palette also makes for a very nice gift for a make-up artist, make-lover, make-up enthusiast.. you get the point, right? If you get the chance, go to your local Ulta and try out this palette for yourself.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. As always, thank you so much for tuning in and reading– love you all. xoxoxo

Redken’s Frizz Dismiss Line – Photos & Review!

Hair Love, Redken

Hey Everyone! Thank you for tuning in as always! 🙂
Today’s post features my current obsession from RedkenScreen-Shot-2015-05-29-at-11.38.03
Redken recently introduced the Frizz Dismiss line and it definitely stands out. Prior to using this shampoo, conditioner, and smooth force lotion spray, I was only using styling creams and the shades EQ from Redken. I had used Redken shampoo years ago and found that the line I was using wasn’t giving my hair life. So I switched… I’m back now. I have been using this combo for a month now… this combo is giving my hair life. I have wavy/curly/frizzy hair and it is SO hard to maintain my hairstyle on a hot summer day in San Diego. With the Frizz Dismiss line.. it’s possible. Thank YOU!

Here is a look I created using the palette.

IMG_0726
I applied “up to no gold.”
Then, I applied “tan-gled up in you on the lid” onto the crease and blended the 2 colors together.
After, I applied “don’t turn a-brown” onto the outer v & blended some more.

Lashes are “ABBIE” from Flutter Lashes.

IMG_0824
This is another look I created using the palette.
The lashes in this look are Red Cherry #43’s.

IMG_0800
For this look, I applied “bare to explore” all over my eye.
Then, I applied “make a mauve” on the lid.
After, I applied “plum away with me” onto the outer corner & blended into my crease.
Eyeliner is QUILL from Lime Crime.

* Overall, I’m really loving this palette. I’ve got fair skin & the colors really pop on me– especially that gold. I just love neutrals and golds!  However, all the colors are pigmented, therefore, they will look beautiful on all skin tones. This is a travel friendly palette and so convenient since it includes 6 shadows, a highlighter, blush and bronzer all in one sleek compact! There is amazing color payoff. These colors are easy to apply and build. The plus side to this palette and rare when compared to other palettes is that I DID NOT get any eyeshadow fallout. Crazy, right? I didn’t use a primer to apply the swatches on my hand, but I always apply an eye shadow primer on my eyelids before any make-up application. It guarantees long lasting and true to color shadows on your lids. The only thing that really shocked me was the blush. It’s a pretty color, but wasn’t long wearing for me. It could’ve just been a bad day for my skin– super hot and I had spent the day at Disneyland.

I’m loving the sturdy packaging with a built in mirror. It’s a very versatile palette. I truly believe that you get what you pay for and in this case, even more. I’m loving this palette, therefore I definitely recommend it! So go to your local Sephora or Ulta, check it out in person if you’re on the rocks about this palette. If you’re in love already, you can order online http://tartecosmetics.com 🙂 I hope you love it as much as I do!

PROS: travel friendly, pigmented, affordable, beautiful packaging!

CONS:  blush was not long-wearing, but still pretty.

PRICE: $38

AVAILABILITY: Tarte Cosmetics, Sephora, Ulta

RATING: 4.8/5
