Hey Everyone! Thank you for tuning in as always!
Today’s blog post is a nail polish review, part of my Mani Monday series 🙂 Enjoy!
Essie’s Bikini So Teeny is a beautiful light blue with some shimmer and it’s been one of my favorite spring/summer shades. I’ve been testing this out since May and I truly love the color, but wish the formula was a little different. When applying this color, I found that the formula was quite thin and one coat looked terrible. If I was in a hurry, this nail polish would not be able to do the job. I let the first coat dry and then reapplied another coat… it started to look a little better. The third coat worked some magic and I was satisfied with the pigmentation. In direct sunlight, you can actually see the shimmer in the bottle and it’s very subtle on your nails. Continue Reading
Hey Everyone! Thank you for tuning in as always! 🙂
Today’s post features a nail polish from Essie! As summer is nearing it’s end, I’m changing up my nails and really loving the brighter colors. Tart Deco is a beautiful coral shade perfect for summer! This shade is definitely more orange than it is pink. I think this color would look great on all skin tones, but especially if you have a lovely tan going on, or if you’re blessed with a darker skin tone. I’m Casper white.. literally. Continue Reading

Today’s post features a nail polish from Essie!
So I figured this post deserves a background story. I’m the type of girl you will RARELY find at a nail salon getting her nails done. But on the rare occasion, rare meaning once a year (if that, lol) it’s probably because my nails need a little extra TLC… tender, love & care. Continue Reading
Hey Readers 🙂 Today’s featured post are 3 nail polishes from Julep!!
Become a MAVEN girl today! http://www.julep.com/maven.html
I’ve been trying out the Julep nail polishes for a few weeks now, & as you all now, I like to spend some quality time with the products before I review them. After using them for some time now, I’m actually liking them! Typically, my go to nail polishes were from OPI or China Glaze… and I think I’ve found Julep to be an addition to my collection! :))I definitely admire the color selection that Julep offers: I love the darker & more neutral shades compared to the crazy neon colors that I probably wouldn’t purchase unless it was for a certain event! I like that with many of the nail polishes, I only need to apply one coat of polish, and that’s good enough for me if I’m in a hurry. However, with any nail polish, I like to apply my base coat, 2 coats of color, and top coat! Most of the colors offered by Julep apply opaquely in just one coat, I find I get better wear if I still apply two thin coats instead.
I actually am pretty satisfied with the packaging of the nail polishes, I’m just not as satisfied with the brush. The bottle is tall and narrow, which is fine with me, but the brush is so long, that at times, you might just get a small blob of polish on your nails as you’re painting them, so I would suggest that you try to wipe the brush on the side of the bottle before applying to your nails! I love the consistency of the polish! Great drying time, and doesn’t chip for me until a few days later. Some nail polishes chip within a few hours! 🙁
I can definitely agree with many of you… the price per polish at $14, can be a little expensive, therefore, I hope to encourage you to go on to the website, and become a MAVEN girl! the site is so easy to search. Take a quick quiz. Look out for promos and discounts if $14 is too pricy for you! However, I am saying that you MUST try out these polishes! I’ve purchased like 6, and I will keep going! They make the cutest presents & stocking stuffers, and they’re just amazing!
DAPHNE- this is a beautuful green/blue color with a creme finish!
OTTE- this is a neutral color (beige/camel) creme color!
Overall, I really like this nail polishes! I love that the polish dries not too long after you apply it! Sure the price point can be a little much, but I recommend that you look out for promos and discounts! These polishes are worth the money! I love the pop of color!
PROS: love the colors & lasts before it chips!
CONS: can be pricy!
Today’s featured product is the Color Secrets Professional nail polish in Freaky Friday 🙂
Introducing nail polishes from JB Cosmetics. This company offers a wide selection of nail polishes for you to purchase. Beautiful colors that include matte, shimmers/glitters, and sparkles.
This nail polish is called Freaky Friday. This color dries matte.
I applied 2 coats, and it dries within 1-2 minutes.
It really is a beautiful color.
What I loved about these nail polishes is that I only had to apply 2 coats.
There are times when I use different brands and I at times have to apply 3-4 coats of polish.
This is another polish that was sent, it’s a beautiful color that turns green/yellow, gives a slight appearance of a highlighter yellow… but toned down. I tried this polish out with other matte nail polishes and it gives a beautiful finish. Overall, these nail polishes are great! They are free of DBP, toluene and formaldehyde. They are super cheap and work as great as companies who sell nail polishes for $8-$20. The nail polish chipped within 3 days (and I happen to be a constant washer of dishes). I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a different brand of nail polishes to try out.
PROS: super cheap nail polish & love the finish.
CONS: none 🙂
I hope this review was helpful & have an amazing day!
FTC: These products were sent for review consideration, & these are my honest opinions.
Hey Readers! Today’s featured product is a nail polish by OPI- Pink Shatter🙂
I bought this lovely nail polish on sale at the Empire Beauty Salon from the Parkway Plaza Mall in El Cajon yesterday for only $2.00. The regular price for this nail polish is $8.50, however, it was discounted because it was released for Breast Cancer Awareness in October.
This is a bright pink nail polish will some shimmer. I painted my nails yesterday & washed the dishes a few times, & no chipping yet. NO base coat, 2 coats of color, & no top coat. Love the quality of this OPI nail polish. And the price was definitely great! This nail polish is wearable anytime of the year!
PROS: very afforadable, beautiful pink
CONS: none 🙂
Check out this nail polish from Face Stockholm. This is a summer green nail polish called “Kale” (#113). Face Stockholm has about 95 different colors of polish to choose from! Definitely a wide variety! They are $12 each. The nail polishes contain no DPT, Tulene or Formaldehyde.
113 (Kale) is a really beautiful dark green that leans to the teal side. I must say that the color really is dark & pigmneted! There is definitely a lot of blue to this green. The formula was really great, opaque in two coats and really rich and pigmented looking! All in all, I really liked this polish! The two FACE Stockholm polishes I’ve tried so far are really a great quality!
Overall, I love how pigmented the nail polish is, but I would definitely wear this color in the fall. You literally only need 1 coat of color! Remember to use a base coat & top coat to have the nail polish last longer!!
When I think of summer, I think of corals, peach, pink, & baby blue. But, that’s just my opinion 🙂
I hope this review was helpful! Have an amazing day!
