BECCA Après Ski Glow Collection EYE LIGHTS PALETTE
This is by far one of the holiday launches that I’ve been excited for– the packaging screams winter wonderland, right? The Après Ski Glow Collection consists of a face palette and an eyeshadow palette. As far as I’m aware, this eyeshadow palette is limited edition. I’m splitting this holiday collection into two reviews. For this post, I’ll focus on the eyeshadow palette, and later on this week, I will have a separate review for the face palette.
Hi Everyone! Today’s post revolves around an infographic I created due to the amount of questions I receive from clients and my readers regarding makeup and how often products should be tossed and replaced. If you’re interested, please scroll and keep on reading 🙂
If you haven’t cleaned out your make-up bag recently, it’s time to do some spring cleaning to make sure you’re not applying expired products on your face. When going through your makeup bag, or should I say makeup stash? I know many of you have drawers filled with products… I promise, I’m not judging since i’m definitely guilty of hoarding makeup.
Hey Everyone! Thank you for tuning in as always. Today’s post is another product review & I’m covering the newest & hottest Anastasia Beverly Hills release! It’s the Anastasia Beverly Hills collaboration with Mario Dedivanovic, many of you may know him as Kim Kardashian’s make-up artist! He has been working in the beauty industry for over a decade & I adore his effortlessly clean looks– so I purchased the palette as soon as it released because it is limited edition & I didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity, plus it’s a stunning and extremely wearable palette!
This is a warm-toned palette including 12 eye shadows ranging from matte to shimmer & retails for $45.00. Each shadow pan has .02 oz of product so easily justified at $3.75 per eye shadow. However, you also get a dual-ended shadow brush & there is a mirror within the palette, so that’s an extra bonus. The packaging indicates that the shelf-life is only 6 months, so make note of that. Hey Readers 🙂 Today’s review features the Rainforest After Dark Palette from Tarte Cosmetics. Can we just stare at this packaging for a minute? Who isn’t going to toss out the box?
This palette is part of the 2014 Fall Collection, therefore, it is limited edition. If it’s something you’re interested in– hurry before it’s no longer available. This palette is an eye and cheek palette. It features a highlighter, bronzer, blush, and 6 eye shadows.
highlighter– champagne bronzer– park avenue princess (matte) blush– unleashed eyeshadows (6):
– bare to explore
– make a mauve
-plum away with me
-up to no gold
-tan-gled up in you
-don’t turn a-brown
*Here are some swatches for you: [left to right] ^ Champagne & Park Avenue Princess
[left to right w/out the use of primer] ^ bare to explore, make a mauve, plum away with me
[left to right w/out the use of primer] ^ up to no gold, tan-gled up in you, don’t turn a-brown
Here is a look I created using the palette.
I applied “up to no gold.”
Then, I applied “tan-gled up in you on the lid” onto the crease and blended the 2 colors together.
After, I applied “don’t turn a-brown” onto the outer v & blended some more. Lashes are “ABBIE” from Flutter Lashes.
This is another look I created using the palette.
The lashes in this look are Red Cherry #43’s.
For this look, I applied “bare to explore” all over my eye.
Then, I applied “make a mauve” on the lid.
After, I applied “plum away with me” onto the outer corner & blended into my crease.
Eyeliner is QUILL from Lime Crime.
* Overall, I’m really loving this palette. I’ve got fair skin & the colors really pop on me– especially that gold. I just love neutrals and golds! However, all the colors are pigmented, therefore, they will look beautiful on all skin tones. This is a travel friendly palette and so convenient since it includes 6 shadows, a highlighter, blush and bronzer all in one sleek compact! There is amazing color payoff. These colors are easy to apply and build. The plus side to this palette and rare when compared to other palettes is that I DID NOT get any eyeshadow fallout. Crazy, right? I didn’t use a primer to apply the swatches on my hand, but I always apply an eye shadow primer on my eyelids before any make-up application. It guarantees long lasting and true to color shadows on your lids. The only thing that really shocked me was the blush. It’s a pretty color, but wasn’t long wearing for me. It could’ve just been a bad day for my skin– super hot and I had spent the day at Disneyland.
I’m loving the sturdy packaging with a built in mirror. It’s a very versatile palette. I truly believe that you get what you pay for and in this case, even more. I’m loving this palette, therefore I definitely recommend it! So go to your local Sephora or Ulta, check it out in person if you’re on the rocks about this palette. If you’re in love already, you can order online http://tartecosmetics.com 🙂 I hope you love it as much as I do!

If you do the math, you are only paying $3.00 per shadow.
This palette also has a very large mirror, as well as sleek plastic packaging.

I must say that I think 20 new shadows, a dual ended brush, & beautiful, sleek packaging is worth the $59.00
