Hey Everyone! Today I’m writing a quick post to keep you all updated. Xo
With every passing year, we gain tons of experience, wisdom, and knowledge. We learn from our mistakes and strive to become better people. Yesterday was Friday, May 13, 2016 and I celebrated my 23rd birthday. Life has just been flying by and it feels like we brought in the new year only a few weeks ago, yet it’s been five months already. After blowing out the candles, I took a moment to reflect on my past, something I do quite often. It’s always good to take a few minutes to reflect on your past and try to focus on your future.
I just completed my 1st year at San Diego State University… most of you know that I graduated high school in 2011, attended beauty school (Bellus Academy) and received my cosmetology license, attended a local community college for 2 years and then transferred to San Diego State. I started blogging while I was attending beauty school back in 2012 for Elessa Jade, aka Pursebuzz, also the co-founder of Violet Voss Cosmetics. Blogging for Elessa sparked my interest in writing and I became so intrigued by photography and I became obsessed, literally, OBSESSED with trying out new products and different trends. Blogging became my passion.
I was beginning to blog a lot more than I was working at the salon, and so I decided to launch my own site back in 2013, and here I am today. Of course, I’ve rebranded my blog since then, changed domains and my layout a few times… that’s what keeps me inspired.
Juggling school full time, work, and my blog is not an easy task. In fact, I found myself blogging instead of studying for an exam on numerous occasions. When it comes to events and having to travel, many times I had to sadly decline because school does come first. When I set a goal for myself, I don’t stop unless I reach that goal… I hope you do the same as well. Remember to keep your eyes on the prize. There will always be setbacks and some bigger than others, but that’s all a part of something we call life and it’s bound to happen. I’ve learned to adapt and even though I continue to struggle with balancing everything that I do, I know that it’ll all come to an end soon and I will no longer have to sacrifice events or job opportunities due to school. I need that degree and I’ve already invested so much time and effort, so I’m not quitting anytime soon.
So I’ve got one year to go and I’ll have that Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Marketing. I’ve learned so much already and I’m ready to never stop learning. I’m ready to take on new adventures, travel, grow as a person, continue learning from my mistakes, learning to love and be loved, building relationships, and so much more. I want to thank you all for being a part of my journey, for cheering me on, and for continuing to inspire me. Thank you times a million!
