And I’m back at it again with another Manicure Monday post, only this time I’m writing about a polish from Essie’s Gel Couture line! Essie launched their Gel Couture line last year in either April or May with 42 colors and a top coat! I’ve been loving off white, beige, and nude polishes during the summer! Continue Reading
Summer is in full effect in San Diego with palm trees and a beautiful breeze. I’ve been switching out my nail polish more often and have recently fallen in love with a polish in my Essie collection. For the most part, I love Essie polishes, although I’ve purchased some that were just too streaky. Mrs. Always-Right, on the other hand, is absolutely beautiful. If I could describe this polish in one word, it would be raspberry. Mrs. Always-Right is a gorgeous rose, yet neutral mauve that is very flattering on my skin tone. This polish is definitely one that I can wear year round!
Initial Thoughts: First off, this polish is part of Essie’s 2016 Bridal Collection. The formula for this polish is very opaque even with one coat of nail polish. Although I still prefer using a base coat, 2 coats of nail polish and a top coat for longer wear time. In these pictures, I’ve only applied 2 coats of polish, although I definitely think I could’ve gotten away with only 1 coat. This is definitely, hands down, one of my FAVORITE Essie polishes! The application was a dream!
Spring is here! I love changing up my nail polish every 7-10 days. I tend to wear a lot of black, so I add some color by painting my nails. As many of you know, Essie is one of my favorite nail polish brands to use. Today, I’m using Sand Tropez- a beautiful, soft beige which I believe is one of their best sellers. It’s definitely one of my favorite nudes and looks flattering on all skin tones. I definitely recommend you try it out if you love a polish that pretty much goes with anything.
Hey Everyone! Thank you for tuning in as always! I’m back at it again with another Mani Monday post since I know you enjoy them. For the past 2 years, I have been obsessing over Essie… it’s the only polish I wear. I love to buy at least 1 Essie polish a month, and if I skip a month, I end up buying 2. I’ve accumulated 27 polishes thus far & the neutrals are my favorites! If you have any color requests, let me know in the comments & I will gladly go out & buy it to try it!
Hey Everyone! Thank you for tuning in as always! I’m back at it again with another Mani Monday post — I’ve received such positive feedback for this series, so expect more! You guys know my obsession for Essie polishes; I just can’t live without them! If you have a request, let me know in the comments! Muchi, Muchi is a beautiful, “creamy, luscious pink with a kiss of mauve.” Clearly, that is an accurate statement. I purchased this color from Target about 3 weeks ago because I wanted a lighter, but vibrant polish for the summer. I happened to fall in love with this one just by looking at it… doesn’t it remind you of a strawberry milkshake?! YUM! (currently singing Kelis’ “my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard”) & we’re done, clearly. Back to the topic of this nail polish, I think it’s one of my favorite light pinks from Essie. The first coat I applied was pretty sheer, but after applying the second coat & letting it dry, it looked perfect on my hands! I’m sure you could get the color to be even more opaque on your nails, just be aware that you’ll have to add a third coat. Overall, I think Muchi, Muchi is a great polish for everyday wear in the Spring & Summer, or even all year round (there are no rules). I’m heading out for a week getaway & I’m currently wearing this shade on my nails & I think it’ll go well with the outfits I’ll be wearing since it’s not too bright. It’s just a muted, soft pink. I tested this out a week ago & it wore for about a week with almost no chipping. This time, I applied a base coat, 2 coats of this color, & then a top coat. So far, so good. It’s been 4 days since I’ve applied the nail polish & no chipping yet. I normally never put a base coat and rarely even use a top coat, but I did this time & the wear seems to be even better. I definitely recommend!
PROS: long-wearing, stunning color, great for everyday wear!
Hey Everyone! Thank you for tuning in as always!
Today’s blog post is a nail polish review, part of my Mani Monday series 🙂 Enjoy!
Essie’s Bikini So Teeny is a beautiful light blue with some shimmer and it’s been one of my favorite spring/summer shades. I’ve been testing this out since May and I truly love the color, but wish the formula was a little different. When applying this color, I found that the formula was quite thin and one coat looked terrible. If I was in a hurry, this nail polish would not be able to do the job. I let the first coat dry and then reapplied another coat… it started to look a little better. The third coat worked some magic and I was satisfied with the pigmentation. In direct sunlight, you can actually see the shimmer in the bottle and it’s very subtle on your nails. The nail polish tends to last for about a week without chipping as long as I’ve applied a base coat and a top coat. Even though I have to put in a little extra work to get the pigmentation I want on my lines, I really do love it. It really is perfect for the warmer nights and since I live in San Diego, it’s safe to say that this nail polish reminds me of our baby blue skies. Love, love!
PROS: beautiful color, long-wearing, perfect for summertime and vacations.
CONS: thin formula, subtle shimmer barely appears on the nails.
